What is the difference between Delta Force and SEAL Team 6? ›

Delta Force is an Army outfit that primarily selects candidates from within their own special forces and infantry units. However, they will also select candidates from all branches of service, including the National Guard and Coast Guard. SEAL Team 6 selects candidates exclusively from the Navy's SEAL team community.

Unofficially, however, SEAL Team Six carries out some of the military's riskiest missions, the ones considered too dangerous for conventional troops. They are primarily a counter-terrorism unit; involved in intelligence, counter-intelligence, investigative, and national security work.

Being part of SEAL Team 6 means operating at the very pinnacle of naval special warfare forces. Their missions range from high-risk counter-terrorism operations and direct action warfare to maritime operations such as rescuing hostages held by enemy combatants.
