@hbomax is hands down the WORST streaming service I have ever paid for. I can’t even make it one full episode of anything without something going wrong. This time it’s Gossip Girl replaying the same 2 seconds over & over. Skip ahead does it there. Rewind. Same thing. Come on 😡😤

@HBOMaxHelp @jean_the_writer I’m having the same issue on my PS4. I also already reinstalled the app. A show will work for 20 mins or so and then I get the error.

@DJSnM @hbomax It was even worse a few years back with some of the early encoders used for downloadable episodes. The "static" required a huge amount of resources to render, and the frame rate would temporarily crash. H.265 seems to have fixed this (or maybe it's just more powerful devices)

@AlanMFisher1 @DJSnM @hbomax Static, smoke and fireworks are all really good tests of both encoding and bandwidth. I’m guessing it’s a bandwidth issue.

@DJSnM @hbomax @svt’s play service (the Swedish public service broadcaster) handles resolution throttlingin a strange way, the quality drops as expected but the blockiness more resembles a poorly received digital TV broadcast.
