I Tried the Viral Hismile Teeth Whitening Strips That Promise to Work in 30 Minutes (2024)

If you are a coffee fiend like me, I bet you can relate to having your teeth stained a cute shade of yellow.

Am I willing to drink my almond latte out of a straw? Absolutely not.

But I do miss having whiter-looking teeth.

I've tried my fair share of teeth whitening strips before...

Some made my teeth overly sensitive, ruining my coffee experience in the morning.

Others made me drool (yum) or hardly made a difference.

So, when word spread Adore Beauty was going to be launching the viral Instagram-famous beauty brand Hismile, I was ecstatic.

I first heard about Hismile teeth whitening a few years back when Kylie Jenner posted an ad for the brand on her Instagram account in 2016.

Shortly after, everyone in my feed was smiling with a Hismile teeth whitening kit in their mouth.

Today, the brand makes a bunch of at-home teeth whitening products, from an updated version of their original LED teeth whitening kit, to a purple shampoo toothpaste and even a Hismile mouthwash.

Personally, I prefer something a bit more low effort, which is why the Hismile PAP+ Strips caught my eye.

OK, but is Hismile teeth whitening legit? Does Hismile teeth whitening actually work?

Hismile is a beauty brand founded by two Aussies who saw a gap in the market for a cheaper and more convenient at-home smilecare option.

They formulated their best-selling Hismile Teeth Whitening Kit without peroxide in an effort to remove the discomfort and sensitivity associated with traditional teeth whitening.

And the rest is history.

With an almost cult-like following and good products to-boot, Hismile have amassed a casual 1.1 million Instagram followers.

They've also established their own Hismile Research Centre, where their team works with dentists and customers to create innovative teeth whitening products.

How Do the Hismile Whitening Strips Work?

The Hismile whitening strips are pretty much your on-the-go teeth whitening solution.

For those who find themselves short on time, or if you just can’t deal with your drool after using teeth whitening kits, these Hismile whitening strips are for you.

The main ingredient in the Hismile strips is PAP+ or Phthalimidoperoxycaproic Acid.

Unlike peroxide, a whitening ingredient known to cause undesirable side effects like sensitivity and gum irritation, PAP+ whitens teeth fast, and without causing tooth sensitivity.

How to Use Hismile Whitening Strips.

One of the most appealing aspects of the Hismile whitening strips is how quick and easy they promise to be.

When you open the packet, you’ll see 2 strips.

The long rectangular one is for the top row of teeth, while the other irregular and more curved strip is for the bottom.

According to the instructions, you simply chuck these bad boys on clean, dry teeth for 30 minutes while you do your makeup or watch a sitcom.

Then remove the strips and rinse to reveal instantly whiter and brighter teeth.

Sounds good, but do they actually work? Here are my thoughts.

My Hismile Whitening Strips Review.

The whitening strips are made from a tough, stretchy, plastic-like material.

The strips aren't uncomfortable, but I can definitely feel them when I'm wearing them. Kind of like a strong matte tape on my teeth.

I was also prepared for the strips to taste chemical-y, but to my surprise, this wasn’t the case!

Here's what they look like on. Clear, and almost invisible.

As far as whitening strips go, these ones adhere on the teeth really well and stay put for the whole half an hour, no problems - but only if you make sure your teeth are dry when you put them on.

I avoided having a full-on conversation while wearing them, but you probably could.

After 30 minutes, I pulled the strips off. They're quite sticky, so it sounds soooo satisfying, like when you pull the blue plastic protector off a mirror or glass.

The results? Expectations exceeded.

I wasn't expecting to get Hollywood or influencer white teeth, but I was very happy with my Hismile before and after results.

My teeth looked visibly brighter, with no pain or sensitivity. Unreal!

Final Verdict...

I gotta say, I loved the whole experience and will be using the Hismile whitening strips again.

Everything from the convenience and bright pink packaging that's easy to spot in my messy bathroom drawer to how I can marinate my teeth while doing my makeup is *chef's kiss*.

And a pack of 14 strips costs JUST $49, which I reckon is excellent value.

So, would I recommend the Hismile PAP+ Strips? Heck yes.
