Kobe Bryant's 2000 NBA championship title ring has sold for $927,000. The ring, which was one of Kobe's five NBA championship rings that he won during his legendary 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers, sold for nearly a million dollars in a recent auction. This is the most money ever paid for an NBA championship ring, via ESPN's Dan Hajducky.
The 2000 NBA championship was the first NBA Finals win for the late Kobe and the first of three consecutive championships for him and the Lakers. Kobe originally gifted the ring to his father, Joe Bryant. Joe and Pam Bryant sold the ring in 2013 for $173,000, a decision which hurt Kobe at the time.
Kobe ended up taking his parents to court over them selling his ring and basketball memorabilia. The lawsuit reached a settlement, and Kobe's parents were allowed to sell the ring and other items. Now, the buyer has sold the ring thirteen years later.
Prior to this ring, the record amount an NBA title ring was sold for was $705,000 in 2021 This amount was paid to acquire Boston Celtics' star Bill Russell's first of eleven NBA championship rings from the 1957 NBA championship.
