Montgomery County's strength is in its cultural diversity and dedication to including all cultures in its programming. My English and History classes throughout my educational career always included diverse perspectives from a wide variety of cultures. Its weakness is in communication with parents and students. When a school's safety is threatened, which is happening increasingly often in Montgomery County, Admin often neglects informing students and parents in a timely manner. When they do, their responses are often vague. I have noticed that this only leads to more fear and rumors. Other than this, I can say that I've thoroughly enjoying learning with MCPS.

For the past 17 years of my life, I grew up in Montgomery County. It was a great county. Very energetic, intelligent, and always does things in the best interests of the students, parents, and educators. But recently things started to change. With the recent budget cuts in Montgomery County, some teachers are receiving less money and are even being let go. I mean what Im about to say from a place of genuine love for this county. It is disgusting and I never expected such inappropriate actions from MoCo. These people have families that depend on them, their livelihoods are being dramatically altered and the county doesn’t seem to care. Adding on to it, there are certain aspects of the curriculum that parents don’t agree with and instead of the county compromising to come up with a solution; they’re completely disregarding the parents and community members opinions on the matter. I love this county’s spirit, energy, love for sports, diversity, and so many other aspects. But it needs work

I have only gone to Montgomery County Public School, so I have nothing to compare it to. Personally, MCPS has be one of the best experiences as I was able to make so many connections with different students and teachers. MCPS tries its best to bridge gaps in education by providing students with new tech, educational materials, and approaches to level the difficulties students might face based on personal experiences. Even though all this is true, many students feel that MCPS has not properly used their budgets as equally as they claim they would. MCPS has many students and could not possibly accommodate to each individual, but their efforts to bridge these educational gaps are limited. I feel this way because I am a student who is very ambitious, but certain things hold me back from achieving all my educational goals. Such being: the types of teachers hired, personal/external responsibilities, or lack of instructional involvement. Overall, I love MCPS, but there is much to improve.
