North Carolina Seafood Guide (2024)

We’re lucky to live in a state with bountiful seafood. North Carolina is close to the Gulf Stream, where fisherfolk catch mahi-mahi, tuna, swordfish, and other large migratory species. Coastal species like drum, trout, shrimp, and blue crabs feel at home in the state’s extensive network of sounds, rivers, and estuarine environments.

Over the years, we’ve seen a lot of seafood come through the cut shop. We have cut, cooked, and tasted everything we sell. Our North Carolina Seafood Guide is where we share what we have learned. Favorite recipes, cooking techniques, flavor profiles, and reviews for each species. We invite you to explore your favorites, and find some new ones, below. You can always see what items we have available this week here.
