Squad Busters Tier List For All Characters (2024)

In this Squad Busters Tier List, we wanted to help newcomers learn about all the characters, and help them discover their favorite fighters. While we compiled a list of our favorite characters, the beauty of Squad Busters is that one unit alone can't win it all. You need to build a diverse team of different fighters if you want to stay alive and earn the most gems. Nevertheless, here's our ranking of every character in Squad Busters so far.

The following Squad Busters Tier list is currently for Season 1:

Squad Busters Tier List – S Tier

Archer Queen

In our opinion, the Archer Queen is currently the best ranged character in Squad Busters. All of her forms, from Baby to Ultra, grant her an incredible ability which makes her nasty to deal with. From the get go, she increases the attack rate of your ranged units in Baby form. And if you manage to evolve her to her Super form, the Archer Queen recovers health when not attacking. Pair her with a medic and a tanky fighter, and Archer Queen should make your day a lot easier.

However, Archer Queen's one negative is her low HP. If not protected by a Tank or if used recklessly, you might lose your best player on the field. Additionally, consider using Medics to keep your low HP Fighters alive.

Barbarian King

The Barbarian King is the best melee unit in Squad Busters right now. Essentially, he is a much better version of the regular Barbarian character. He has more HP, deals more damage, and has better overall abilities. Like the Archer Queen, the Barb King can make units around him attack faster (Except this effects melee units, not ranged) in Baby form. By the time he reaches his Super form, he'll steadily heal when not attacking enemies.

Hog Rider

Hog Rider is both fast and great at dealing damage. Just riding on grass alone gives him a burst of turbo, allowing you to navigate the map faster and wipe out monsters. His upgraded abilities further enhance his turbo mechanics, making Hog Rider even more useful in battle. Use him with confidence, especially when paired with a Fused Barbarian King.

Medic

The most important rule in Squad Busters is NOT to get Busted. And in order to stay alive and hold onto your precious gems, you need a healer. Thankfully, the Medic fills that role quite nicely. He passively heals teammates, and drops Heal Packs once he reaches his Classic form (when idle). The amount of healing he does is sometimes just enough to help you survive an encounter with an powerful squad.

Max

Max is a team-player, boosting the squad speed with her ability. This boost lets your squad navigate the map and earn resources faster. Furthermore, once she reaches her Classic form, she can extend the duration of her boost when you bust a squad. This means you can rush an opponent, bust their squad, earn a free chest, and get back into the action.

Squad Busters Tier List – A Tier

Barbarian

The Barbarian unit is an all-round solid unit who everyone in the game starts with. He has good health, good damage output, and solid abilities. In his Classic and Super abilities, he can become an Elite Barbarian if meeting certain battle conditions. While not as good as the Barbarian King, this unit can still help win games by quickly busting squads and monsters.

Witch

Witch not only deals damage from her own attack, but from her spawned skeletons as well. Once she reaches her Classic form, the Witch can spawn more skeletons to keep enemy squads focused on your cannon fodder. With the right squad set up, you can use this to your advantage and wipe out your opponent. Between a strong attack and great ability, Witch is a must-have unit.

Shelly

Shelly is a fantastic damage dealing character with some crazy abilities. Starting with her Baby form, her ability, Super Shell, lets her attack up to five foes at once. Further upgrades to this ability let Shelly recover a large amount of her health, deal a second Super Shell attack instantly, and shoot bigger shells. Overall, she comes with a solid amount of HP and damage to make her a useful member of the squad.

Heavy

Heavy is a tanky defender with interesting abilities that make him a good attacker. When standing still, he attacks faster, and further upgrades improve this ability. Just fusing him into his classic form heals him when he shoots faster. So he not only keeps the squad safe by keeping himself alive, but he deals a decent amount of damage, too.

Bo

What makes Bo an extremely efficient unit is his extra damage deal to monsters. His Baby form alone deals 100% more damage, with each fusion making Bo even more effective against them. When he reaches his Super form, he occasionally drops mines, which can help against monsters and enemy squads. If you can defeat monsters faster, you can earn coins faster, meaning you'll earn more chest unlocks at a quicker rate.

Colt

Colt is a great ranged attacker, who works even better when fighting alongside an archer queen. All of his abilities focus on his Bullet Storm attack, effectively making it better with each upgrade. Overall, he's like a ranged version of the barbarian. A great attacker who will help you wipe enemies and bust enemy squads.

Mortis

Mortis is an all-around fighter with an extremely useful ability. In baby form alone, he can revive up to three monsters in the Squad. When further upgraded, Mortis can revive up to four monsters, who turn into bats at his command. Between his solid stats and the monster spawns, Mortis is a really good option. We feel he's not as good as Witch with her spawning abilities, but still great nonetheless.

Squad Busters Tier List – B Tier

Royale King

Royale King won't deal as much damage or Witch or Mortis, but his ability is useful. Essentially, the more upgraded Royale King is, the more royal recruits aid you in battle. Any unit who can spawn more soldiers to fight for them is already useful. While we don't think he's as good as Mortis or Witch, he's still fun to use if you want to build a massive squad.

Bea

A low HP character with solid damage output and an interesting ability. Bea picks up Hives throughout the map, which spawn a circle of Bees around the squad. The better her form, the better the ability is. Most characters seem to have abilities that affect two separate characteristics. But Bea's ability upgrades strengthens her biggest strengths.

Nita

Nita is a great defensive unit thanks to her Bear, which she summons to help out in battle. Once in her Classic Form, Nita can keep bringing her Bear back to life in case he gets busted. So as long as Nita remains alive, she can keep spawning Bears and keep your most valuable squad members alive.

El Primo

A tanky brawler with great defensive capabilities and a nice ability. Once in his Classic form, El Primo can use a Flying Elbow drop attack that damages up to five foes. Upgrading this ability further enables Primo to deal more damage and even receive HP. When paired with a medic and strong attackers, Primo can prove to be very useful in keeping your squad alive.

Tank

As a defender, Tank really doesn't have that much HP as her name suggests. However, her ability is pretty useful, and downright dominant if fused. Essentially, Tank can take over well… tanks (scattered all over the map). When upgraded, her Tank can overdrive and launch attacks faster. However, we feel Tank really isn't great unless you can spend the resources to upgrade her to her Ultra Form.

Regardless, she's a solid choice.

Wizard

Overall, Wizard is fine as an attacker, but we're not crazy for his abilities. They all revolve around giving the player spells, which you can already earn pretty easily throughout a battle. While you can increase his speed with Archer Queen in the battle, there are better ranged options currently within the Meta. However, Wizard is at least decent at dealing damage.

Greg

While not a great fighter, Greg is incredible at earning loot. Just having one Greg on your team to chop down trees will be extremely helpful in earning coins and gems. If you want, you can upgrade Greg to his Super form to receive more loot from Trees. However, just make sure you're also bolstering your Squad with offensive and defensive units to keep Greg alive. Therefore, we're keeping him in the B tier.

Battle Healer

If you want a Medic but can't find the Medic, the Battle Healer is still relatively useful. She grants a health boost during battle while also healing teammates when opening chests (Classic Form or better). While we like Medic better, having a healer regardless is always useful in keeping your Squad alive.

Squad Busters Tier List – C Tier

Mavis

While some might like Mavis' ability to collect coins, we feel it only extends the time it takes to unlock better characters. At least Greg gives you more loot, including Gems, which are actually important for winning the match. Mavis, on the other hand, only really becomes useful in her Super form. At least then she can heal teammates when picking carrots.

Penny

Penny is a solid attacker who can find hidden treasure on the map. And the treasure she finds can vary from chest keys, coins, gems, and hearts depending on her form. However, she doesn't have a lot of health, so you need to be cautious before using her. If you do want to use Penny, we recommend just unlocking one so you can potentially earn more gems.

Goblin

While not an offensive or defensive powerhouse, the Goblin serves some purpose. Upon receiving a baby goblin, you earn five coins automatically. That number increases to seven in his classic form. And if you upgrade him to a Super, you receive 15 coins. But spending the time and coins on fusing goblins could be better spend on other troops.

Essentially, when you buy a goblin, you're buying a weak character for a discount. If you spent 10 coins to get a baby goblin, then you only really spent five. Like the Trader, the Goblin can be useful in terms of resource collecting, but they won't help you win fights. At the very least, they deal more damage.

Trader

Trader was perhaps the most difficult character to place in this Squad Busters tier list. On one hand, he has very little offensive and defensive properties. On the other hand, he's extremely useful when it comes to earning gems. For every 15 coins you collect, Trader gives your team 2 gems. When you upgrade him to his Super form, that number increases to three.

However, taking the time to upgrade Trader while building a powerful squad within the time limit isn't easy. Besides, if you focus too much upgrading a Trader, another team who prioritized offensive characters might bust your squad in seconds. Use trader with caution, or if your other chest options are not so pleasant. We put him in the C tier for now.

Squad Busters Tier List – D Tier

Chicken

For everything Chicken does right, he also does wrong. His Classic Ability lets him spawn up to three hatchlings over time, but quantity doesn't equate to quality here. His stats aren't good, and the Chicken forms really aren't that powerful. The extra Turbos are nice for resource collecting, but you'll just be sprinting to your death if you focus too much on upgrading Chicken. Overall, not terrible, but not impressive either.

Dynamike

Despite being a pretty good brawler in Brawl Stars, Dynamike is currently the worst character in Squad Busters. His HP is low, his damage output is miserable, and he serves no purpose in harvesting resources. His main attack isn't really accurate until you reach his Super form, which increases its blast radius. Still, you don't want to focus time and coins on upgrading a Dynamike, when there's better ranged options.

Overall, that wraps up our Squad Busters tier list for all characters. We plan to update this tier list over time as Squad Busters receives more updates. And while these are our favorite characters, we understand everyone has their own preferred team comps. Therefore, build the squads that you feel will help you earn the most gems!
