What is the vision care insurance? ›

Vision insurance typically helps people pay for one eye exam and one pair of eyeglasses or supply of contact lenses per year. These plans vary by eyewear allowance. Many vision insurance plans cover frames, lenses and contacts up to a specific dollar amount and provide an additional discount off the balance.

You can use the plan at any Vision Service Plan (VSP) network provider nationwide, including most Walmart Vision Centers and Sam's Club Optical. Before you get service, make sure ​your provider​ is ​in the​ VSP network. Eye exams: $4 copay, once every calendar year.

Philanthropic responsibility: CSR requires a company to contribute to society, whether a company donates profit to charities, enters into transactions only with suppliers or vendors that align with the company philanthropically, supports employee philanthropic endeavors, or sponsors fundraising events.

Most VSP members can use their vision benefits to buy eyewear online at Eyeconic—the in-network, VSP online store for glasses, contacts, and sunglasses. Plus, you'll save 20% off any out-of-pocket eyewear costs, just for being a VSP member.

Cons of vision insurance are that it may not necessarily cover the type of service you need or will not allow you to travel out of its network for treatment. In addition, if there is a specific brand of lenses you like using, or specialized lenses or frames, it may offer a limited line of brands.

There are a few differences between vision discount plans and insurance. The primary difference is that vision plans do not have a “deductible.” Medical insurance covers health problems, while vision plans provide benefits to standard check-ups and glasses.

Choice of Providers

Retail chains such as Walmart, Costco, Sam's Club, Visionworks and Pearle Vision are also included in the network. Log in to your VSP account or contact VSP for a complete listing of providers.

You will receive one spectacle examination per Calendar Year, plus one of the following every two Calendar Years: (1) $200 toward the retail cost of eyeglass frames and full coverage of eyeglass lenses or (2) $300 toward contact lenses and contact lens fitting and evaluation fees.

How much money is VSP? ›

VSP does not generally give out ID Cards, but they are available online for you to print. You also have the ability to change your VSP account information.

Claims and Reimbursem*nt

Contact Member Services at 800.877. 7195 for help submitting a claim online or by mail. You don't need to fill out a claim form when you see a VSP network eye doctor or provider.

Can you use VSP insurance at LensCrafters? While LensCrafters isn't affiliated specifically with Vision Service Plan (VSP), LensCrafters simplifies the reimbursem*nt process for people who use VSP. For VSP, LensCrafters only charges you the amount you'd have to pay out-of-pocket.

Vision Care Services is a domiciliary care service which provides care and support for people in their own homes. Not everyone who used the service received personal care.

Your medical insurance is usually used if you have an eye problem or eye disease or if any medical condition is present that causes eye problems. Some common conditions for which we can bill your medical insurance include: Patients with vision loss.
