One evening after a long day in the operating room, I was having an after-work drink with my friends from the hospital. I was tired and wearing an old pink polo shirt. My makeup was anything but attractive and I just wanted to go home to bed.
But then it happened to me: our eyes met and we knew that was it. His eyes were simply stunning. Years later, I still remember that one magical moment. And even years later, I still deal with the question: What makes eyes attractive? And you may be preoccupied with the question, what happened to my encounter in the bar? Read on and you will find out both.

The structure of the orbit
It’s hard to look at someone without first noticing their eyes. While there are many important facial features that make a person attractive, the eyes are especially important when it comes to judging a person’s true beauty. It can be difficult to figure out exactly what makes the eyes attractive.
The structure of the eye sockets, also known as the bones around the eye, is directly related to the attractiveness of the eyes. An eye socket with greater height and width is perceived as more attractive than a smaller or thinner eye socket. This bone structure also provides a lot of support for the eyes, so our face is better protected from danger.
When our eyes are wide when viewed horizontally, they are perceived as more attractive. This is true for men and women and for all face types. This width is called the palpebral fissure length, and the longer it is, the more attractive the eyes become. A good rule of thumb is that attractive eyes should be wider than they are high. One of the main reasons why someone should consider an upper eyelid lift is an irregular width to height ratio, as well as drooping eyelids and sagging skin.
Shape and appearance of the eyelid
Speaking of drooping eyelids and sagging skin around the eyes. This also plays a big role in the attractiveness of this important organ. The shape and structure of our eyelids can determine the shape of the eyes as a whole.
When the inner curvature of the eyelids swings downward, it is called a downward medial canthus. When both sides of our eyelids swing downward, it can be a sign of attractiveness. However, it is important to know that a droopy or drooping eyelid looks unattractive. These imbalances can be corrected through various cosmetic procedures. They can help increase your attractiveness and boost your self-confidence from the inside out.
Eye circles
In the lower eyelids, the “tired” appearance of the eyelids is generally due to dark circles. The appearance usually goes hand in hand with bags under the eyes and in the tear troughs. These are highlighted by the appearance of underlying hollows due to the resorption of periorbital fat and bone.
The first step to combat this tired appearance is to fill the tear trough with deep hyaluronic acid injections. The injections need to be deep, as this is where the physiological volume loss has occurred and where the product needs to support the tissues instead of making them even heavier. If the injections are too superficial, they will interfere with eyelid movement and may block facial expression.
However, if the bags under the eyes are too large, surgery is the only way to correct them. In most cases, the lower eyelid lift is performed through a transconjunctival incision, which is inside the eyelid and therefore not visible. This way I can avoid visible scars and spare the orbicularis muscle.

What about the eyelashes?
Eyelashes can contribute to the attractiveness – or unattractiveness – of eyes. Studies have shown that dark and thick eyelashes are perceived as more attractive than no eyelashes at all. They can frame the eyes beautifully as they sweep across the shape of the eyelids. Long eyelashes can also be perceived as attractive, but the length is not as important as the density of the eyelashes.
The bar
And what has become of my bar acquaintance now? Well… At the moment he is sitting next to me and helps me to write this article. That one night it was love at first sight and a lot has happened since then. What has always remained are his beautiful eyes. Even though I helped a little with an eyelid lift, I can never get enough.
It's All About Structure. The structure of the eye orbits, otherwise known as the bones around your eye, are directly linked to the attractiveness of your eyes. An orbiture with a bigger height and width is seen as more attractive than a smaller or thinner one.
The way a person's eyes look physically can be a significant factor in attraction. If someone has beautiful eyes but does not take care of their skin, it may make them look aged and less attractive.
Simply taking an eyebrow brush and brushing them upward and outward toward your temples can do a lot. Without using makeup, brushing can still make your lashes look fuller and give them a streamlined appearance. Treat your eyes with household items.
When broken down by gender, men ranked gray, blue, and green eyes as the most attractive, while women said they were most attracted to green, hazel, and gray eyes. Despite brown eyes ranking at the bottom of our perceived attraction scale, approximately 79% of the world's population sports melanin-rich brown eyes.
Bright, vivid colors tend to grab our attention more quickly than muted, pastel hues because our brains are immediately drawn to bright, bold colors that stand out against their surroundings.
One shape that appears to be compelling to our species is the rectangle. For reasons yet unknown, humans have a fondness for rectangles, and they can be found throughout modern society in great abundance. Our genetic material seems to also have a preference for certain density of materials.
Without a doubt, the iris is one of the most attractive parts of the eye. Especially if they are blue or green tones. Many people with dark eyes would like to change the color of their iris but is this possible?
For starters, oxytocin and dopamine — the “love hormones” — have an effect on pupil size. Your brain gets a boost of these chemicals when you're sexually or romantically attracted to someone. This surge in hormones appears to make your pupils dilate. Dilation may also be related to the biological need to reproduce.
An individual's eyes can reveal a lot about them, including their mood, feelings, and even emotions. By simply looking at them, eyes can convey a warm, bright, and inviting vibe as well as a cold and repellent one – they are the window to a person's soul.

Eyes that resemble the shape of an almond, with a wider center and narrowing at both ends. Perceived Beauty: Often considered the ideal eye shape for its balanced proportions.
Since you're going for a natural look, choose a natural-hued pink, brown or gold shadow that's just a shade or two different from your natural skin tone. This will help your eyes pop without screaming "look at me!" The effect will be subtly sexy, almost like you're not wearing makeup at all.
Some contain caffeine, others contain collagen -- both ingredients can help reduce the bags under your eyes. Moisturizers are the surest way to hydrate your skin -- drinking more water has been proven not to be effective at getting more moisture to your skin.
Try glances at someone briefly, looking away, and then glancing again. This can show a potential partner that you're attracted to them and want their attention. Watch someone from the corner of your eyes. In addition to making direct eye contact, watching someone from the corner of your eyes can be helpful.
